One of the great things about blog-land is that we all get to know each other by linking back and forth! Some blogs become really well known because EVERYONE links back to them because they are just so fabulous. Wee Wonderfuls is one of these blogs. You'd be hard pressed to find a blogger that doesn't already know what cuteness you can find at Hillary's blog! This is a fabulous blog that is well written, full of creative goodness, has great pictures, and FREE PATTERNS (as well as a few others that you can purchase :)
So I thought I would post a link back to Hillary's adorable elf pattern, just in case there is someone that doesn't already know about the lovely Wee Wonderfuls. Even if you know the blog, you may not know about this adorable pattern that is available for free download. And it's perfect timing too, since you may want to start your holiday stitching now!
Please note: This picture is taken from the Wee Wonderfuls blog and is only intended to entice you to go there :) Please click here to go directly to the blog for all kinds of cuteness, holiday and other wise :)
Too cute! ::clicks on pimped linkage::

I have a question that semi-relates to the above post... but is slightly off topic :) I've been having trouble with my embroidery lately -- with stitches not staying tight, etc. I'm working on a pre-stamped cross-stitch/embroidery lap quilt and hiding the stitches so that I don't have to re-cover and re-bind the backing with additional material. However... possibly due to the fact that I can't pull the stitches tight or else the fabric will pucker... the threads keep pulling out! I've asked several craft stores and been told to use the following:
1) fray check at the beginning & end of each thread -- which I'm terrified of using because they say that it could also stay the color... meaning the bright-blue stamping won't come out. (besides the fact that 1/4 of the quilt is already complete and I don't know where the beginning & end of the threads are)
2) iron-on fusible fabric -- which doesn't work since the stitches are hidden in between the two layers of fabric
3) hair spray -- which sounds like possibly the best solution, but is flammable and therefore can't be dried in the drier.
Do you have any suggestions for me? I'm desperate to find something that will keep the threads in place as well as the embroidery (satin stitches, straight stitches, etc.) out of harms way from small prying fingers that can easily slip under the threads and pull them out. Help! :)
